Concerned Zongo Youth in Kumasi has applauded the police for the swift action in arresting the prime suspect in the killing of Asantehene’s sub-chief.
The group also condemns and distances the Zongo community from the crime calling for the individual responsible to answer for his own act.
"We utterly and unreservedly condemn this despicable act perpetuated by the alleged suspect. Unfortunately, there is a misconception that the Zongo community is a place of abode for criminals.
“To this end, we dissociate ourselves from any person or a group of persons related to Zongo progeny that commit crime, more so such a heinous crime committed by the alleged suspect," a spokesperson of the group, Faisal Muniru said.

Mohammed Sadat, also known as Alhaji, was arrested last week in Burkina Faso over the death of Nana Kwadwo Afuduor in August this year.
The brutal killing of 47-year-old Oheneba Kwadwo Afoduor shocked the entire Ashanti Kingdom.
Weeks after the police declared Sadat wanted over the incident, he was arrested in Burkina Faso.
Police say he had hosted the late chief at his Odeneho Kwadaso residence on May 18, 2019, before he was found dead on the Ejura–Nkoranza Road.
At a press conference in Kumasi, the group who could not hide their excitement for the news of the arrest said it will be wrong to paint everyone at Zongos with the same brush.
He said Zongo should not be tagged as a haven for criminals.
Mr Muniru says rather attention should be focussed on swift and professional manner police apprehended the suspect.
"Sincerely speaking, we commend the security agencies especially the Ghana Police Service for the wonderful investigation done so far,” he added.
The group says the Zongo community will continue to work closely with the Asantehene to promote peace in Ashanti Region.
