The Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission (EC), Benjamin Bano-Bioh, says that all political party agents are adhering to the rules and regulations at the various polling stations across the country.
According to him, the Commission is pleased to note that these party agents are comporting themselves, and they have urged them to continue doing so.
“So far, most of the party agents have been comporting themselves, and we urge them to continue to do that,” he said.
However, he emphasised that the EC would not tolerate any agent who misbehaves later in the process, saying, “If a party agent misbehaves, he or she can be dismissed from the polling station.”
He further stated, “They (party agents) need to understand that they are there to observe. If there are any issues, they need to report them to the presiding officer so the necessary action can be taken.”
Mr Bano-Bioh was speaking at the second press briefing from the EC headquarters in Accra.
The EC noted that the exercise is proceeding peacefully throughout the country and they are urging for a calm outcome by 5pm.
