As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race intensifies, 63 Members of Parliament have publicly declared their support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
At a press conference in Parliament, the MPs described Dr. Bawumia as the most capable candidate to lead the NPP to victory and reclaim power from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2028.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the MP for Mampong, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, revealed that all 63 MPs voluntarily signed a declaration of support for Dr. Bawumia.

Among those named were Frank Annoh-Dompreh (Nsawam-Adoagyiri), Frank Asiedu Bekoe (Suhum), John Ntim Fordjour (Assin South), and Ekow Vincent Assafuah (Tafo).
The MP for Trobu, who is also part of the “NPP MPs for Dr. Bawumia” group, said their decision was based on Dr. Bawumia’s proven leadership, competence, and vision to unite the party and advance Ghana’s development.
