The Chief Executive of the Northern Development Authority (NDA) Sulley Sambian has disclosed that his outfit has executed about 181 projects in the North East Region.
Sulley Sambian made this disclosure during an inspection exercise of some of the projects being constructed.
He said out of the 181 projects 99 have already been completed adding that the visit was therefore to offer them an opportunity to inspect and also mobiles resources for the completion of the remaining projects.

The Northern Development Authority is implement projects worth about GH¢266.7 million in Northern Ghana under government Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program (IPEP). Under project over 2000 long term projects and 15,000 short term programs were created in 2017. Some of the projects have been completed whiles other are near completion.

Speaking to journalist after the tour Mr Sambian said the NDA has many positive stories to tell but over the years little has been done to tell these stories.”

"The sad thing is that we have never been able to tell our story there is so much the NDA and the MSDR have done over the period but unfortunately we haven’t been telling these stories. So when I took over I decided that there was the need for us to tell our story to the Ghanaian people if you awarded construct of 181 and you are able to compete 99 at least about 50 percent of the job done but I am not sure lots of people know of this” he said.

Mr Sambian said one of the projects he inspected was a ware house that is expected to help address post harvest loses in the area.

He called on Ghanaians to keep with the NDA adding that they haven’t been in the good books of Ghanaians but normalcy was returning.

Mr Sambian said the NDA was partnering, the chiefs and other stakeholders to bring development to the area.

District Chief Executive Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri Joseph Luoknaan outlined some of the project which have been completed including school blocks, dam, boreholes, warehouses among others.

He appealed to the NDA to intervene and get contractors who have abandoned their projects to return to site.

Mr Luoknaan appealed for an AstroTurf for the area adding that chiefs in the area have already allocated land for the project.

The team earlier paid a courtesy call on the North East Regional Minister Yidana Zakaria who said the NDA team is capable of executing its mandate if given the needed resources
