President John Mahama will be participating in an ECOWAS Heads of State meeting called to look at the situation in Mali.
The President arrived in Ivory Coast on Friday and was met at the airport by the Ivorian President Alasanne Outtara.
Saturday's meeting which is expected to be a marathon one, will conclude on a number of strategies anticipated to deal with the Malian problem.
Joy News’ Seth Kwame Boateng who travelled with the President said the extraordinary summit will also re-strategise and think of other options to explore to help deal with the upheaval in Mali.
The ECOWAS Commission will also reiterate the Communities to commitment to support the government and people of Mali to preserve their territorial integrity and combat terrorism.
The Commission says the situation has deteriorated in Mali in the past few days and measure have to be taken for immediate deployment of ECOWAS troupes.
