The body of a beheaded woman was this afternoon discovered in her room at Apremdo, a suburb of Takoradi, throwing the entire community into a state of shock.
Kwasimintim District Police Commander, DSP Ayamga confirmed the incident in an interview with Joy News.
The body of Beatrice Lawerh, 36, was found in a room with her head completely severed from the body.
A loud scream by her child drew the attention of eye witnesses to the incident.
DSP Ayamga said the incident happened around 2:30 pm Saturday and he suspects Francis Agbemenya, lover to the deceased as the culprit.
The suspect is said to have used a machete to cut off the head of the deceased person.
Agbemenya was seen running away from the scene of the incident, Ayamga, stated, adding attempts by the eye witnesses to arrest him failed.
The body of deceased has been deposited at the Effiakwanta hospital as police continue the hunt for the suspect.
