Chain saw machine operators battled with time on Saturday to retrieve the body of Foster Ablenyi, 40, a tailor and rescue two others from under a huge silk cotton tree that trapped them at the Messiah healing camp at Bumbula near Kwamikrom.
Madam Astufoe Agobo 45, of Djemeni Avukofe and Mr. Kwasi Tendeku 42, of Peki Avetile who were seriously injured had since been admitted at the Margaret Marquart Catholic Hospital Kpando where they were reported to be responding to treatment.
The police could not be immediately contacted, but the founder of the Church Prophet Yohanes Wegbe told the GNA in an interview that the accident occurred during a violent rainstorm that ripped off the roofs of many buildings in the town.
He said the two injured persons attempted to rescue the deceased from his apartment, but the tree finally crushed the building.
Ablenyi was admitted at the camp only five days for treatment before his death, the prophet said adding that his body had been conveyed to the Margaret Marquat Catholic hospital for post-mortem.
The camp was set up in 1990 for healing people afflicted by physical and spiritual ailments.
