Former Volta Regional Minister Henry Ford Kamel will be buried next week, Volta regional NDC chairman Kwesi Aboagye has disclosed to Joy News.
He said the burial of the former minister, who was the Member of Parliament for Buem, is expected to be attended by President Mahama and other leading political leaders.
The former minister died on Christmas Day last year following a short illness.
His death paved the way for a by-election which is scheduled to be held on February 26.
Mr Aboagye tells Joy News the NDC is sure of retaining the seat.
