A circuit court at Hohoe remanded, Reuben Anku, a 34 year-old farmer from Fodome-Dzorkpe in the Volta Region, for allegedly murdering a 25-year-old unidentified man.
Anku's plea was not taken and he will re-appear before the court on December 5.
Detective Police Chief Inspector Samuel Gbedemah told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Sarpong-Appiah that Anku and two other accomplices at large allegedly murdered the man.
He said they secretly dumped the body of the man under the stem of a fallen tree and covered it with palm fronds at the cassava farm of the suspect.
Chief Inspector Gbedemah said three weeks after the incident, when a witness in the case, went to Anku's farm to harvest cocoyam and discovered the decomposing body, he caused the arrest of the suspect.
Chief Inspector Gbedemah said the suspect denied knowledge of the murder but explained that a taxi driver who he said was only known as Kofi and his friend known as Daniel brought the dead body from Hohoe for burial at his farm.
Prosecution said Anku admitted that he demanded 350 Ghana cedis from the two accomplices before allowing them to deposit the dead body at the farm.
