The Ghana Journalist Association has elected Affail Monney as its new President.The Editor at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation stood unopposed and was elected accordingly.He succeeds Ransford Tetteh, who is currently News Editor of the Daily Graphic.News Editor of Ghanaian Times, Dave Agbenu also run unopposed and was elected General Secretary.GJA Executive Member, and staff of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Mathias Tibu won 316 votes to beat News Editor of Peace FM, Abu Issa Monnie's 213 votes for the Vice President position.Meanwhile, Linda Asante-Agyei of Ghana News Agency retained her position as National Treasurer by winning 335 votes as against Graphic Sports' Rosalind Amoh's 193 votes.Mary Mensah of Daily Graphic was elected Public Affairs Officer with 364 votes, against Yaa Adusei's 158 votes.The election was conducted in some selected media houses across the country, and the Accra International Press Center served as the collation centre where the election results were declared.Meanwhile, in the Eastern Region, One of Multimedia's Correspondents, Maxwell Kudekor was elected Regional Secretary.Below is the list of the new executives elected to steers affairs of the Association for the next three years.1.
