Christians have been advised not to use pastoral titles without the genuine call of God as it was against the Christian doctrine.Bishop Israel Billy-James, President of the World United Bible Ministerial Association (WUBMA) said those who used pastoral title without God's calling would face His wrath during the judgment day.Bishop Billy-James gave the advice during the ordination of eight pastors of WUBMA over the weekend at Tema.A 13-member board of the association was also inaugurated into office at the function.
Bishop Billy-James, who ordained the pastors said instead of using the pastoral title to dupe the public, Christians must know that such titles have responsibilities of evangelism attached to them.He said activities of some self-acclaimed pastors have tainted the Christian religion and therefore urged the genuine ones not to condone their behavior and challenged the ordained pastors to exhibit honesty and love towards everybody, irrespective of their status.Bishop Billy-James urged them to respect people in authority both in the church and in government in fulfillment of the scriptures.Giving a brief background of WUBMA, he said the association, which was founded on June 26, 1996 was a non-denominational Christian fellowship aimed at equipping Christian leaders "for the end time harvest".Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse encouraged Christians to be steadfast in the face of temptations and take up their responsibilities of winning more souls for Christ.Nii Kraku also advised Christians to live at peace with their neighbours and lead exemplary lives.Source: GNA
