Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaa, Minister of Defense, has commended the military for its good and dedicated work towards national security and urged the personnel to keep up the spirit."The work of the military has improved tremendously as compared to other security services over the past decades", he said.Mr. Kan-Dapaa was interacting with officers and men of 3 BN Garrison in Sunyani during a visit to the Liberation Barracks in Sunyani.He said there were numerous challenges facing the military and appealed to the officers and men to adjust themselves to the situation whilst the Ministry tried to solve their problems.The Defence Minister advised the officers and men to consider raising funds to complement the government's efforts in addressing their problems.Mr. Kan-Dapaa commended the military for their efforts in sustaining the "Operation Calm Life", a joint military/police patrol exercise to clamp down on crime.He visited the military hospital, sewerage treatment plant and the on-going renovation works at the barracks and pledged to help enhance the living conditions of the soldiers.Source: GNA
