The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition in Ghana has received a major boost following the donation of a brand –new Hyundai i10car to the Africa office of The Royal Commonwealth Society.Seth Yeboah Ocran, Chief Executive Officer of YOKS, a leading vehicle rental company in Ghana made the donation to the Commonwealth office after a short ceremony.Addressing the press, he spoke of his motivation for supporting the Essay Competition: “I had it very difficult during my school days. At a point, I had to drop out of school. So, all this while it has been my passion to support anything to do with education”.On his part, John Apea the Regional Director for theCommonwealth Africa office thanked the Chief Executive Officer of Yoks Rent A Car for the kind donation.“We are very excited at the support that the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition has received from this great Ghanaian Entrepreneur, Mr. Yeboah Ocran. It is our hope that other organisations will also support our work and help us to promote literacy and education across the continent”.He added: “Logistical support has always been a challenge in executing a noble project like this and we are happy to have YOKS on board. Our aspiration is to have as many children as possible in every corner of the country take part in this competition”.Country Director of the Royal Commonwealth Society Francoise Lubanda said the partnership with YOKS promises to be great with the students being the greatest beneficiaries.

Building on the 2018 theme of Toward a Common Future, this year’s essay competition will call upon young people to use cultural, technological and environmental connections for positive change across the Commonwealth. In Ghana, five celebrities, Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong (Becca), Kwesi Arthur, Kuami Eugene, Jackie Appiah and Dennis Nana Dwamena (Kidi) have been selected as the first ever 2019 Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Goodwill Ambassadors. Their role will be to lead the campaign to get more students across the country to participate in this year’s essay competition.Yoks Rent A CarYoks Rent A Car is a leading vehicle rental service in Ghana.
