The Anlo Youth Association is asking government to explain the disappearance of the bodies of the four persons who died during the Anlo chieftaincy crisis. But Police say they have them.In a statement issued in Accra Friday, November 23, 2007, the group says the four bodies including that of the policeman who were shot during the clashes on November 1, 2007 are missing from the Keta and Ho mortuaries since Tuesday November 20, 2007.One Washington Ahadzie, whose relative died near the shrine where the rituals were to be performed for the disputed chief, Nyonyo Agboada, confirmed the story to Joy News.He said that the body of Israel Ahadzie, his relative was not at the mortuary when they went there on Tuesday. He also confirmed that the three other bodies were also not at the mortuary.Meanwhile, Joy News has learned from a concerned citizen of Anlo that the bodies are in the custody of the Police.When Joy News contacted the Ghana Police, DSP Kwesi Ofori, Head of the Police Public Relations confirmed the story and said the bodies have been moved down to Accra for autopsy to be conducted on them at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital on Monday, November 26, 2007.
