Turkey 2013: P.E teacher to referee Ghana vs. Spain

FIFA Referee Benjamin Jon Williams, better known as Ben Williams from Australia will be at the centre of affairs when Ghana’s Black Satellites play European Champions Spain in a second Group A fixture of the 2013 World Youth Championship at the Ali Sami Yen Arena on Monday evening. The 36-year-old is a physical Education teacher at Belconnen High School in his native country and has been a FIFA referee for eight years. He officiated at the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup and 2011 AFC Asian Cup, where after terrible performance in Kuwait - China match, was sent to home and his position never been so strong like before. However, he is on the list of 52 officials for 2014 World Cup and he was selected to officiate at the 2012 London Olympics. Running the lines to assist referee Ben Williams will be compatriots Matthew Cream and Hakan Anaz. Top European referee Cüneyt Çakır from host country Turkey will act as fourth official. Kick-off for the Ghana-Spain game is at 18:00 GMT.
