Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has returned to action in the Norwegian top-flight after undergoing a successful eye surgery. The Black Stars shot-stopper missed this month’s World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho because of the surgery to correct the eye problem. The Stromsgodset goalkeeper took full advantage of the one-month break of the Norwegian top flight last month to correct his eye problem. He returned to action for the first time since his surgery on Sunday as he captained his club in their 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg in a league match on Sunday. It was the first time in action since he played in their 2-1 home win over Aalesund before the Eliteserien went on a break last month. The operation on his eye has massively boosted his vision which will be of good importance for his performances for the Black Stars in future. The Norway-born star underwent the surgery while the Black Stars were playing in Sudan and Lesotho and used the period to recover from the surgery which was successful.
Kwarasey has defended the timing of surgery although it would mean him missing two crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho next month.“It’s decent timing to do it now that we have conceded the least goals (seven of eleven games). In addition, we lead the table,” Kwarasey said. The 25-year-old has featured in all 13 league matches for his side Stromsgodset who lead the table.
