Referee Carlos Alfredo Vera Rodriguez from Ecuador will handle the Ghana v. Portugal round of 16 clash at the on-going U-20 World Cup in Kayseri on Wednesday afternoon. Carlos Vera, 37, was the fourth official in Ghana’s final group game where the Black Satellites thrashed USA 4-1 at the Kadir Has Stadium last Thursday. He has handled one game in the competition so far - the one all draw game between France and USA on June 24. The Ecuadorian centre referee will be assisted by countrymen Christian Lescano and Byron Romero with Paraguay’s Antonio Arias acting as the fourth official. Ghana faces Portugal in a bid for one of the slots to the quarter-finals of the 2013 U-20 World Cup at the Kadir Has Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:00 GMT.
