Peter Ndlovu has officially joined the coaching structures of South African Premier Soccer League outfit Mamelodi Sundowns.
As correctly reported by supersport.com earlier this month, Ndlovu had been offered a job as the club’s development coach, it is now official, the 40-year-old has joined the South African side.
While there have been concerns over his whereabouts from the Zimbabwean team in Zambia for the Cosafa Cup where he was expected to assist coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels, Ndlovu is currently in Ghana with the Sundowns senior team for pre-season.
Ndlovu arrived in Accra with the Brazilians on Saturday night for a two-week training camp. He appears in the front row of a Sundowns team photo in Accra.
Sources close to the player who earlier on revealed to supersport.com his link with Sundowns confirmed that the former Highlanders and Coventry City forward is now with Sundowns.
“He left Zimbabwe last week before Sundowns left for Ghana. At the moment he is with the first team but soon he will assume his role as development coach. Sundowns really wanted him and they eventually got their man,” said the source.
Landing a job at Sundowns means Ndlovu would have to relinquish his role as Zimbabwe Under-23 head coach as well as Warriors assistant mentor.
