The Football League have announce that Mitre will be providing Delta Fluo balls to all Football League Clubs for the 2013-14 season. .
Clubs will be required to use the Fluo balls in all Football League matches (Championship, League 1 and League 2) played from November 1 2013 to February 28 2014 inclusive.Capital One Cup, FA Cup or Johnstone’s Paint Trophy ties are excluded from the deal however.
Clubs are also expected to use the ball in training sessions leading up to games as part of the deal.
A Mitre spokesperson said:
“At Mitre, we were the pioneers of the first Fluo football so we’re excited to introduce the Delta V12 Fluo to all Football League Clubs between October and February for this 2013/2014 season.
This combines our most recent Fluo innovation with the most accurate ball we’ve ever created to combine performance and visibility for players and spectators”.
Initially the replica balls will retail through Sports Direct but this may expand into other retail outlets. Clubs, if they wish, will be able to retail the balls through their own club shops.
