A Circuit Court in Juaso, in the Ashanti Region, has sentenced a farmer for two years imprisonment for stealing artificial hair.
46-year-old, Kofi Poku, and an accomplice, Yaw Obempong who is on the run, on July 15 stole 152 pieces of artificial hair valued at more than GH¢ 1,000 from a kiosk belonging to Eunice Asante in the Ashanti Akim district.
Kofi Poku pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit crime and stealing.
According to a GNA report, the owner of the shop noticed that the shop, which she locked the previous night after business, had been broken into. After careful examination she discovered some of her products have disappeared.
The owner of the items subsequently received information that Kofi Poku had gone to a nearby community to sell the stolen items. He was arrested and admitted to the crime in his caution statement.
He was therefore sentenced to two years imprisonment.
