The Greater Accra Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Elizabeth A. De-Souza has noted that, unless service providers ensure that the right input resources and the process delivery are of good quality, outcomes in terms of achievements in education will elude the nation.Speaking at the 9th Graduation Ceremony of Cefelix Academy here in Accra, the Regional Director of Education said the cost of education has become high, so the nation has opened the door for individuals corporate bodies to operate private institutions which are required to conform to the standards laid down by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES).Further, she said, public and private institutions are together required to ensure all school going children have access to quality basic education.Madam De-Souza stressed that quality learning takes place within quality learning environment which are children-friendly and appealed to teachers to be ahead of their students by doing thorough preparation before going to the classroom, as well as the use of appropriate teaching and learning materials.Mrs. De-Souza also appealed to parents and guardians to desist from dumping their children in school and show concern in the development of their wards like having time for them, making arrangements to send and take them on time from school, paying their fees on time etc.The regional director of education called on the students to reciprocate all that is being invested in them by making good use of their time and staying committed to their studies so they excel in all that they do.She appealed to parents and teachers not to concentrate only on the physical development of their wards but also get involved in the spiritual and moral development of them, “the bible admonishes us to point our children in the right direction and they won’t be lost, teach them to choose the right path and when they are old they will remain upon it”.In her welcome address, the headmistress, Mrs. Nora Segbedzi, said thes chool is focused on the goal of producing students who can surmount the many challenges and competitions wherever they find themselves. She said the school has put in various interventions, innovations, strict supervision and monitoring policies to enhance effective Teaching and Learning.Mrs. Segbedzi believed stocking of the school Library with more books this year will encourage reading and writing of the students.“Ladies and gentlemen, today calls for celebration of the effort of your wards that have trained to meet the challenges ahead of them in the Educational System here and beyond”, she concluded.Seventy-three (73) Kindergarten pupils graduated to class one while 65 Junior High School students passed out to proceed to Senior High School.
