Head Pastor of New Jerusalem Fellowship Church at Tema Community 4, Pastor Prince Mark popularly known as Malvin Brown is in the grips of the Tema Regional Police for allegedly sodomizing a 14-year-old boy severally.
The Public Relations Officer of the Tema Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Olivia Turkson told Adom News the pastor confessed to forcibly penetrating the boy in the anus once and spilling his semen on the boy.
Police quoted the pastor as saying “it was difficult penetrating his [the boy’s] anus - I did it only once and I spilled my semen on him.”
But according to ASP Turkson, the boy told police the pastor penetrated him more than five times and on different occasions in the pastor’s house, where he [the boy] also lived.
The boy and his parents are members of 32-year-old Pastor Mark’s congregation so the parents trusted the pastor with their son when he requested for the boy to go live with him.
The boy had gone to visit his parents when they discovered he was bleeding from the anus. He told the parents upon interrogation that Pastor Mark had sodomized him.
Further investigations at the Tema General Hospital revealed he had been sexually abused and he was HIV positive. But Police could not say whether he contracted the HIV from the pastor as the pastor is yet to be tested for HIV.
ASP Turkson said the pastor also admitted to being bisexual so he has a girlfriend, but also sleeps with men, particularly when he travels abroad.
She said when police asked the pastor whether he also allows men to penetrate his anus he said “I am always on top when I sleep with guys”.
Police say the preliminary charges against the pastor are defilement, but other charges may be preferred against him if evidence showed he infected the boy with HIV.
Meanwhile, ASP Turkson has cautioned parents against trusting people with their children.
