Gold Coast Securities Ltd has been awarded the Investment Advisor of the Year 2012. This was in the third edition of the prestigious Ghana Investment Awards (GIA) which ranked the institution as that which mobilized the highest in net fund during the period under review.
The awards ceremony which recognizes excellence in the country’s Investment Industry is organized by the Premier Networking Investment Club (PNIC), a business networking and investment club, under the auspices of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in consultation with various industry stakeholders.
The awards assessed the performance of twenty-two (22) brokerage firms and sixty-seven (67) investment advisor firms duly licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as all listed equities on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) for the year 2012.
In all, thirteen (13) categories of awards were presented with two new awards, Advertising Campaign of the Year and Deal of the Year introduced for the latest awards.
Databank Brokerage Ltd emerged the Broker- Dealer of the Year Award whilst SIC Financial Services Limited Research won the best Research Report of the Year.
IFS Capital was adjudged the Best Growing New Investment Firm whilst Spendsome Savesome by FirstBanC Financial Services was also awarded the Gold winner for Advertising Campaign of the Year.
The Ecobank-TTB Merger estimated at GHS 232million by EDC Investments took the top-spot for deal of the Year.
FirstbanC Financial Services’ First Fund took the gold award the Money Market Fund of the Year whilst HFC Future Plan Trust (HFC Investments) emerged the best Balanced Fund of the Year.
HFC REIT (HFC Investments) even though a Real Estate Fund was classified as an Equity Fund for the prupose of the awards and emerged ultimate winner.
Ghana Oil Co. Ltd. (GOIL) was also awarded the Best Performing Stock of the Year.
Genevieve Abban (HFC Future Trust Fund) was adjudged Fund Manager of the Year whilst Sophia Kafui Teye of HFC Investments Limited emerged the Most Promising Investment Professional of the Year.
A Life Time Achievement Award was conferred on Mr. Samuel Oduro Mintah, a Spare Parts Dealer in this year’s awards for his immense contribution to the country's investment industry.
