Hearts of Oak are through to the last 16 of the NC Special Cup tier II after overcoming second-tier side Uncle T FC’s bold challenge in a thrilling clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians won the match 4-2.
Uncle T stun the home fans when they took the lead in the 42nd minute but Hearts levelled through Joseph Esso two minutes later as the first half ended one all.
15 minutes after recess, Hearts were rewarded with a penalty which Christopher Bonney converted. The lead though lasted for two minutes as the visitors restored parity in the 62nd minute.
However, with ten minutes to end proceedings, Hearts scored two goals courtesy Kojo Obeng Jnr and Kofi Kordzi to secure their qualification.
Hearts of Oak’s regional rivals Liberty Professionals have also booked their place in the round of 16 following a slender 1-0 win over Sky Power FC in Dansoman.
