Africa World Airlines (AWA) will begin morning flights from Accra to Tamale, the Northern regional capital 5 times a week from August 19, 2013. The flights, which are scheduled to depart Accra at 7:00am and return from Tamale at 8:30am will be operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. According to a release signed by AWA Marketing Manager, Samuel Tachie, the morning flights are meant to complement the airline's existing flight schedule between Accra and Tamale. "AWA currently flies seven times a week from Accra to Tamale...[but we are] introducing the morning flights in response to the demands of the market", the release stated. The airline will also be offering an introductory tax inclusive fare of GH¢ 100 for a one way flight on the morning schedules from Accra to Tamale from August 19, 2013. Bookings can be made at the AWA offices in Accra at 2A Senchi Street, Off Liberation Road, Airport Residential Area and in the departure hall of the domestic terminal or at their Tamale office located opposite the Zugbeli Junior High School and the ticket booth at the Tamale Airport. Alternatively bookings can also be made online at www.flyafricaworld.com where payments can be made at any Zenith bank branch. Africa World Airlines is a partnership between SAS Finance Group, Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), China-Africa Development Fund and HNA Aviation Holding, the parent company of Hainan Airlines which is the 4th largest airline in China.
