2014 budget to focus more on job creation

Government has begun work on the 2014 budget with an overwhelming focus on job creation following a two day Presidential retreat which ended Saturday. President John Mahama led his team of ministers to assess the impact of his government’s policies on stabilizing the economy. In an interview with JoyNews Evans Mensah, Information Minister, Mahama Ayariga said the various sectors of the economy are working on their inputs to ensure their development strategies have a significant job creation output. He disclosed that all the ministers committed themselves towards fiscal discipline, proper management of their expenditure properly and to intensify revenue mobilization. The Information Minister noted that government will also dialogue with the various labour unions in the country to resolve the public sector wage issue. Mahama Ayariga expressed government’s commitment to resolve all the problems affecting the economy to ensure productivity.
