Police officers will be deployed to various media houses in the northern region before and on the day of the Supreme Court judgment.
Police there say this is to ensure the safety of journalists and social commentators.
Joy News' Correspondent Martina Bugri reports from Tamale that the Police made this decision because in the past few years, four media houses were attacked by party activists during political discussions.
The Police will also be meeting with heads of media houses in the region to decide on the modalities for the deployment of police personnel.
Northern Regional Police PRO ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told Joy News the police officers will be on guard on August 29 and 30 - that is on the day of the Supreme Court ruling on the 2012 Presidential election petition, and a day after that.
