A whale has been washed ashore at a beach in Nkontompo in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis in the Western Region Tuesday night.
This will be the fourth whale washed ashore at different locations along Ghana’s coast in the past four days.
Joy News' Kwaku Owusu Peprah who at was the beach said the whale can be compared to two saloon cars joined together.
He observed the whale was yellowish and its head seems to have been smashed.
Kwaku Owusu Peprah recalls that part of the environmental impact statement that was issued as part of the Jubilee Project states that some of the sub-sea infrastructure and installations have the tendency to affect the life and survival of marine mammals.
The Jubilee oil field is located 60km offshore in the Atlantic Ocean between the Deepwater Tano and West Cape Three Points blocks in Western Region.
