Price of some petroleum products are expected to increase between 3 and 20 percent by next week.
Joy Business has gathered that Petrol and Diesel should go up between 3 and 5 percent.
LPG could witness a 7 percent adjustment.
Premix and Kerosene will go up between 15 and 20 percent. Sources say the increase is in line with the bi-monthly adjustment in prices of petroleum products at the pumps.
Government on September 1 stepped in to cushion consumers from paying the expected hikes in the last review but it is not clear if it will intervene again on Monday September 16.
Transport fares go up by 20%
Meanwhile, transport fares would go up by 20 percent from September 14.
A source close to government says government appears not to be happy with the sharp increase in transport fares.
According to the source, since fuel adjustments constitute just about 25 percent in the buildup of transport fares, it was not prudent for the transport operators to increase their fares by that percentage.
The transport union on the other hand have argued that the increase is independent of fuel price increases.
The Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council has asked passengers not to pay what it called illegal fares because it had not officially taken effect.
Other commercial drivers however can now legally charge the new fares.
