Charismatic Ghanaian hiplife star Tinny, a.k.a. Tinny Nii Addo Quaynor is to have a new music video shot by sizzling US music video director Rachel Watanabe-Batton, with a special cameo appearance by French/Cameroonian turntable 'royalty', DJ Prince Charles.
The new video for Tinny's track "Incomplete" would be shot on location in Accra by world-class director and producer Watanabe-Batton, as part of the MTV Making the Video with Shell initiative.
Watanabe-Batton, who has worked with artistes such as Nas, Lil Jon, P Diddy, Timbaland, Will Smith, R.E.M and Oasis, would be assisted on the shoot by a group of Ghanaian music video directors participating in the MTV Making the Video with Shell video workshop, which takes place in Accra, Ghana this December.
Tinny, 25, who has been wowing Ghanaian music lovers since 2003, has wooed many fans with his own brand of hip hop in which he sings and raps in Twi, Ga and English. Tinny was selected by MTV base after Ghanaian music fans nominated their favourite artistes by SMS.
Tinny comments: “Rachel has worked on awesome music videos for A-list artistes like Nas and P Diddy, so it's a fantastic opportunity to work with her to realise my vision for my own music! And the chance to work with DJ Prince Charles and have him appear in my video is just out of this world!”
The new video for Tinny featuring a cameo by DJ Prince Charles would air for the first time on MTV base on TV3, DStv and HiTV in January 2008 as part of MTV Making the Video with Shell-Ghana. Ghanaian music fans can also catch Tinny and DJ Prince Charles at the MTV Making the Video with Shell wrap party, to be held at the Afrodisiac Nite Club, Accra on Friday December 14. Doors open at 22:00 and tickets cost GH¢20.
MTV Making the Video with Shell is sponsored by Shell in association with TV3, Joy FM (Accra), Skyy Power FM (Takoradi) and Fox FM (Kumasi).
