SIC Life, Ghana’s leading Life Insurance Company won two awards at the just ended Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) awards held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.
It was adjudged the Life Insurance Company of the Year 2012, and its advert, The Final Journey winning the 2012 Radio Advert of the Year.
SIC Life grew its premium income by 40 percent in the period under review, and was the first insurance company, for both Life and General to earn a record Gross Premium Income of over One hundred million Ghana cedis (GH¢100,000,000.00).
Its market share which previously fell from 27 to 26 percent, made a huge turn around to 30 percent as a result of this unprecedented performance.
The company also made a remarkable profit in the period under review of GH¢5,077,607.00 and paid dividend to its shareholders.
In an exclusive interview with Myjoyonline.com, an elated Managing Director of SIC Life, Aaron Issa Anafure, who was also a nominee for the′ Marketing Man of the year, dedicated the awards to the company's clients, board members, management, staff and sales executives of the company.
He said “treating the customers as the focal point in my organization through satisfaction of internal clients is my philosophy. If my staffs are happy, definitely it will transcend to my external clients”.
On his part, Head of Marketing at SIC Life, Albert Bahun-Wilson attributed their success to hard work and dedication of staff to clients and stakeholders of the company.
He noted that a carefully drawn strategic plan which was well embraced by all did the magic for the organization.
Mr. Bahun-Wilson said the company increased its visibility in the market by opening two new offices in Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region and the Spintex road in the Greater Accra region.
He added that SIC Life increased its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) with a sum of over three hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢300,000.00) in 2012 and is prepared to do more in the years ahead.
Mr. Bahun-Wilson said the awards will motivate them to achieve more laurels in the coming years.
