One of Volta Region’s best and the only surviving school in the 2019 in NSMQ has eliminated Chemu SHS and Oti Boateng SHS at the quarterfinal of the 2019 competition.
Keta SHTS has now taken the first semifinal spot available on Saturday and has secured a third consecutive appearance at the semifinal.
Chemu, who has until this point had a wonderful campaign were tipped to win the contest but their woes which started from a slow round one continued throughout the contest.
The Tema-based school caused an upset earlier in the year when they defeated five-time champions Presec Legon in the Regional Championship but that inspiring story has been cut short by Ketasco.
For Oti Boateng SHS, their over 70 points in the qualifiers sent shivers down the spine of their challengers and the Eastern Region school kept that name going until now.
They gave Ketasco a run for their money but only until the penultimate round.
Ketasco shattered the game in the last round by picking three of four riddles to progress and keep the hope of a Volta Region-based school winning the 26-year-old competition alive.
At the end of the contest, the final scores were:
Keta SHTS: 47pts
Oti Boateng SHS: 28pts
Chemu SHS: 24pts
