The Asiwa/Bobiam Nuado Kuo in Kumasi has sent a letter of appreciation to President John Agyekum Kufuor for creating the Bosome Freho District with its capital at Asiwa in the Ashanti Region.
The letter copied to the press and signed by Mr Kwabena Amoah, its Chairman in Kumasi on Thursday, said the action by the President had shown that he had the welfare of the people at heart to ensure the development of the area.
It said to place the destiny, development aspirations and progress of the area in the hands of the people was the best opportunity any caring President could offer to such a rural community.
The statement expressed thanks to God for saving President Kufuor from the recent motor accident that occurred in Accra and also wished him good health and God's guidance in his efforts to raise the living standards of Ghanaians.
It pledged the unflinching support of the chiefs and people in the area to the President, the Government and the New Patriotic Party.
