As part of the company’s strategic move to drive and dominate the life insurance industry, Express Life has trained it staff on exceptional service delivery. The three days knowledge sharing events was organized by LeapFrog Labs, an Affiliate of LeapFrog Investments, and majority stakeholders of Express Life. The knowledge sharing series enables Leapfrog Labs to add real value: value that directly impacts both the growth and bottom line of Leapfrog’s investees, as well as the wellbeing and protection of the low-income and under served markets which each investee company targets. An integral part of the Knowledge Sharing program is the follow-up work for each investee and massive support available from Leapfrog Labs and the Micro insurance Centre. This commitment to ensuring concrete outputs of the workshop ensures that the value of the event extends beyond the three days spent in the workshop itself. Chief Executive Officer of Express Life, Emmanuel Aryee said life insurance industry is growing at a rapid pace, service delivery issues continue to dampen the public confidence in the fast expanding industry. He believes this can be addressed through exceptional service delivery which in his view begins with an exceptional product distributed through an appropriate distribution channel. The workshop held in Accra focused on Distribution Challenges and Best practices in low-income distribution. It was facilitated by Leapfrog Labs and the Micro insurance Centre and the attendees were drawn from Leapfrog’s portfolio companies in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Senegal, Sri Lanka and India. These portfolio companies are Express Life, BIMA, Mahindra and Apollo. Representing Express Life were Tetteh Ayiteivie (Head of Distribution), Dorothy Tsidi (Branch Manager), Benjamin Afful (Branch Manager) and Ernest Mickson-Yeboah (Branch Manager). Topics addressed included distribution tools and partnerships, customer marketing & awareness building. Due to the recent addition to Leapfrog’s portfolio of mobile insurance distributor BIMA, mobile distribution and the overall role of technology was a topic which sparked significant interest. Special recognition was given to the session's SUAVE Product Award winners. SUAVE stands for Simple, Understandable, Accessible, Valuable (for both client and insurer) and Efficient. The award winners included, Vera Adomako-Nyantakyi - Express Life, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in designing SUAVE insurance products at the workshop. Also in attendance from Express life, Ghana were Mr Peter Adjei (Head Of Operations) and Jane Mingle (Actuarial Head ). For the participants from Ghana it was a great opportunity to meet persons doing various works to drive micro insurance and to know specific success stories as well as specific challenges in running micro insurance and it also afforded an opportunity to showcase their personal knowledge on how best to handle micro insurance dealings, for best result.”
