Mesut Ozil may have angered Arsenal fans, as he has tipped Champions League opponents Borussia Dortmund to go on and avenge their heart-breaking final defeat last season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side fell 2-1 to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich in the showpiece final at Wembley back in May, but Ozil feels Dortmund could go one better this time around.
Positive
When asked by German sports publication Bild whether Dortmund could go on to eventually lift the trophy should they qualify from Arsenal’s ‘group of death’, he replied in the affirmative.
- A team that wins in London is of course one of the favourites. Dortmund was already a strong team in the past season and my impression is that they are better than ever.
Defeat
A Robert Lewandowski strike consigned the Gunners to a 2-1 defeat against Dortmund in the corresponding fixture at the Emirates two weeks ago, and Ozil will be hoping his side can get their own Champions League challenge back on track with victory in Germany on Wednesday night.
Arsenal bounced back from two successive cup defeat with their impressive win over Liverpool at the weekend.
