The coalition of Civil Society Organisations working against corruption has made a second call for the Board of the Public Procurement Authority to step aside, following alleged conflict of interest involving its CEO.
The Coalition, which includes the Centre for Democratic Development and the Ghana Integrity Initiative said in Thursday’s statement that, the responses of the Chairman and the actions of the Board since the unveiling of Manasseh Azure’s investigative piece, has affirmed its earlier position that the Board must step aside.‘It reconï¬rms our observation that the Board's appreciation of the conflict of interest rule in Article 284 of the 1992 and expressed in the PPA Act 2003 is problematic.
“In addition, the issues raised by the Manasseh Documentary raises serious questions about the diligence with which the Board carries out its mandate to vet and approve methods for Restricted Tender and Sole Sourcing,” the statement, a copy of which is published below, said in part.
