Government has described xenophobic attacks on African migrants in South Africa as ‘unfortunate’.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, it urged the South African authorities to take ‘necessary steps’ to deal with the looting and violence that began Sunday.
Media reports say, five people have died in the attacks as South African nationals target other Africans seen as economic threats.
