The World Bank Country Director Ishac Diwan says Ghanaians in all spheres of human endeavour should work efficiently.Mr. Diwan equated poor attitude to work to retarded economic development and called on Ghanaians to step their efforts to ensure good quality delivery in all spheres of the country’s endeavour.The Country Director said this when he on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.The call was to enhance the cordial relations between the World Bank and the Asantehene.
The Country Director was accompanied by his wife Mrs Parine Jaddo Diwan and Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Tourism and Diasporan Relations.
The visit coincided with a special Christmas party, organized by the Asantehene of which about 200 children were feted with food and drinks.
Mr. Diwan told the Ghana news Agency (GNA) that he was in the country for a four year term to continue with the work of his predecessor, Mr. Mats Karlsson.
He also called on Ghanaians to support him to work for maximum results for the benefit of all.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu wished him a happy stay in the country and hoped that the people would give him the needed hospitality and support.
