Joy Business’ Fred Duhoe has won Best Reporter in Agriculture at the 3rd Volta GJA Awards held in Ho.
Out of seventy entries from 30 journalists in the region, Fred came out tops in the agriculture reporting category.
An elated Fred said “I live the agriculture story because I am a farmer too. I’m passionate about farming and it’s my focus to help alleviate poverty as my contribution to attaining the Sustainable Development Goals 2 to ensure zero hunger in our small way.
“Winning best reporter in agriculture for the second time of this Awards, I endeavour to focus on Agri-business as my specialized area of reporting.”
This year’s Awards under the theme: “Environmental cleanliness: Media as a Vanguard Don't Drop that Litter” was aimed at eliminating waste and ensuring the preservation of the environment.
Meanwhile, the Volta regional chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has in less than a year built a press centre and has also been given a 4-acre land by the chiefs of Adaklu for the construction of a media village.
Accepting documents to the land at the awards ceremony, the regional chairman Kafui Kanyi expressed gratitude to the chiefs.
