The 1986-1993 old boys group of St. Peters Secondary School, Nkwatia donated a variety of sports equipment and kit and also refurbished the staff common room for the school all to the tune of GHC15,000.
The sports equipment included footballs, volley balls, jerseys, hockey sticks and balls among others. And the group also promised to do more for the school later.
A statement from the group said “this will be the second project the group has embarked on in the school with funds gathered from all group members from all over the world.”
The refurbished teachers’ common room would provide teachers with a comfortable setting where they can work in between lessons and also provide them with a private space for meetings and other administrative functions.
The group noted that the school has proud history of sporting and academic success and it continues to add to its laurels, adding “we are confident that with the gift of these new sporting equipment, more students will take up sports and help the school achieve more on the sporting field.”
President of the Group, Richard Osei Anim was quoted as saying the group owed a huge debt to the school, and they hope their effort will go a long way to help students and teachers.
He urged all year groups to rally behind worthy school projects.
Richard Osei Anim pledged the group’s commitment to the school, saying that they will work with school authorities to identify others areas of need.
Headmaster of the school, Mr. Kudiaboh said the school has since 1957, produced competent professionals now in prominent positions both in Ghana and across the world.
He appealed to all old students both home and abroad to come on board and give back to their Alma Mata and ensure the school remains one of the best in the country helping to provide quality education and preserve the dignity of the men who pass through its walls.
