Winner of Man of the Year award at the 2019 Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards, Ernest Ofori Sarpong, has toured the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland as part of his prize package for winning the award.
Mr Sarpong, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Special Ice Company Limited, was awarded the Ultimate Man of the Year, for his economic contributions to Ghana through his companies, Special Ice Company Ltd, U2 Salt Ltd, United Television, and his many social intervention programmes.
During the two-day tour, he was honoured to engrave his own bottle of Glenfiddich whisky and was accompanied by his friend and business associate, Kwame Osei Despite, and the Executive Director of EMY Africa, Kojo Soboh.
Emy Africa Awards honours distinguished African men annually on or around Father’s Day. Since 2016, the Awards which seeks to celebrate the best in men’s achievements across local industry, community, culture, and public service, have honoured dozens of men of all ages and walks of life for their abilities, initiatives, and contributions to society.
The 2019 honorees included Sheikh Osman Sharubutu, Kelvin Okyere, Yofi Grant and many others. The flagship award, the Ultimate Man of the Year, however, was won by Ernest Ofori Sarpong, CEO of Special Ice Company Limited.
As part of his prize package for winning the award, he was by invited Glenfiddich – the world’s most awarded single malt whisky and platinum sponsor of this year’s EMY Africa Awards – to visit and tour Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland.
