Adwoa Vivian and Adwoa Odokor, both housewives, were on Friday fined a total of GH¢50 by the Assin Foso district magistrate’s court for failing to keep their surroundings clean.
The two pleaded guilty to leaving household refuse, including human excreta in dwelling premises and were convicted on their own plea. Each of them was fined GH¢25 or in default six weeks’ imprisonment with hard labour.
The court, presided over by Mr Joseph Blay, heard that on December 6, 2007, officers from the district environmental office detected large heaps of household refuse, containing human excreta in the house of the two women.Source: GNA
