Guinea’s coach, Robert Nouzaret is keeping his team’s dream of a place among the last four after a hard fought 3-2 victory over Morocco.
The coach said his team’s reaction after their loss to Ghana in the opening game was a proof of their ability to travel far in the three-week championship.
"After our defeat to Ghana, I yearned for a reaction on the technical, physical and mental front, which I had today.”
He said Guinea had an improved game against the North Africans, compared to the opener in which they lost 1-2 to Ghana last Sunday.
Guinean captain, Pascal Feindouno scored twice and set up the Syli Nationale's third goal before he was sent off. But Nouzaret remained philosophical over the creative genius’ absence in the next game.
“He is a very important player but I'll have to find a different format without him."
The West Africans arrived in Ghana, hoping to improve upon their performance in the last edition in Egypt where they exited at the quarter finals.
Guinea is third on the table, on same points with Morocco and requires a good win against Namibia to qualify for the second round of the competition.
