President of the Creative Arts Council of Ghana, Mark Okraku Mantey has denied claims that an ultra-modern music studio to be constructed and managed by his outfit will be funded by government.
According to him, the project will be privately funded with the support of entrepreneurs and aid from some donor agencies.
Addressing industry players on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz during his ‘State of the Creative Arts’ presentation, Mark Okraku Mantey stressed that the notion that government is funding the project is false.
‘’I never said that I was given an amount of money to build a studio. Do you know how Gyankromah did what she has done? She was able to get some funds from donor agencies, entrepreneurs in the country who believe in what you are doing. I didn’t say I was going to pick the money from government’’, he said.
‘’There are entrepreneurs even in the party who if you pitch and they get into your concept and they believe in it (will fund it)’’, he added.
The President of the Creative Arts Council had announced in 2018 that his outfit will supervise the construction of an ultra-modern studio for the industry as part of promises by the New Patriotic Party to strengthen the industry.
In 2019, Mark Okraku Mantey revealed that his outfit was in the process of acquiring a land to construct the studio.
He stated that the ultra-modern studio will be situated in a conducive environment preferably at the outskirt of Accra.
