Radio Diamond, a Tamale based FM station on Tuesday presented used clothing to victims of the flood disaster that hit parts of the Northern Region in September last year.
Mr Edward Ameyibor, General Manger of Diamond FM, who made the presentation to the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), said the clothes were mobilised through an appeal launched by the station during the celebration of its fifth anniversary to organisations and individuals to support the flood victims.
He said suggested that a chunk of the items should go to the people of the West Mamprusi District and Daboya in the West Gonja District, who were worst hit by the floods.
He hoped the clothing would give the victims some comfort especially during this harmattan period.
Mr Ameyibor said some organisations and individuals had also pledged money and said as soon as those pledges were redeemed, the station would make another presentation to the RCC.
Mr Charles Abass, Regional Coordinating Director, who received the items, said described the donation as timely, saying the Council was in the process of rehabilitating the flood victims.
He said the flood victims needed food items; clothing and building materials to enable them rehabilitate their destroyed homes and also prepare for next seasons farming.
He thanked all the organisations, which had so far come to the assistance of the flood victims and appealed to other institutions to donate to help alleviate their suffering.GNA
