In one of the most freak motor accidents ever recorded by the Ho Police, one person died, while two others were seriously injured when two unregistered motorbikes crashed and later knocked down two pedestrians on a street at Kpedze in the Ho municipality last Saturday. Both motorbikes were carrying two persons each, that is, the rider and a pillion or passenger, when one of them, ridden by Amenuveve Akpah, with Rasta as the pillion, activated its trafficator that it was turning left towards the Kpedze main lorry station.
Incidentally, another unregistered motorbike, with Tamador as the rider and Peter Ekow as the pillion, which was coming from the opposite direction, allegedly on high speed, ran into the first motorbike, causing its rider and pillion to fall down.Police investigations revealed that the second motorbike went on to hit two pedestrians, Kudjovi Akome and Kassardjan, who sustained various degrees of injury and were rushed to the Ho Municipal Hospital for treatment. Kassardjan died the next day and his body was deposited at the mortuary. The Public Relations Officer of the Volta Regional Police Command, Inspector Joy Afagbedzi, disclosed that Akome had been referred to the Volta Regional Hospital, adding that Tamador was still on admission at the Municipal Hospital and was responding to treatment. He said the unregistered motorbikes had been impounded by the police, while Akpah was in police custody assisting in investigations.Source: The Mirror
