Major upsets have been recorded in some constituency primaries in the Brong Ahafo Region with Captain Nkrabea Effa-Darteh (rtd) losing out to a new entrant.
Also falling in a primary is the Minister of State at the Ministry of the Interior, Hon. Obiri Boahen.
In the primary held in the Berekum constituency where Captain Effah Darteh (rtd) is the incumbent MP, Kweku Agyekum Boateng polled 88 to oust the sitting legislator who managed a paltry 5.
In the Sunyani East constituency, Nana Obiri Boahen fell as he polled only 5 against the 61 votes polled by Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh, General-Secretary of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG).
Twumasi Awuah, the Municipal Chief Executive polled 39, Prof Obeng Ofori got 18 in the same constituency, Dr. Kwame Twumasi Nuamah, 3, Francis Manu Gyan, 1 and Dr. Kweku Adoma, 1.
In the Jaman South constituency the winner, Yaw Mahama Aful polled 63, beating Anne Nyamekye, the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture who polled 39, Yeboah Johnson, 3, Alfred Tuah Yeboah, 4 and Florence Boadi, 2.
In Dormaa West, Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu polled 79 to emerge the winner, beating Yaw Yeboah who got 60.
