The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo is in Half Assini in the Western Region as part of his tour of 10 constituencies in the region.
Nana Addo and his team are in the region to experiment with their campaign strategy dubbed: Listening Campaign.
By this strategy the flag bearer gives the platform to members of the public to express issues of concern to them
Nana Addo will later today meet with the Western Regional branch of the Ghana Bar Association, doctors and nurses, and address students of the Takoradi polytechnic.
The spokesperson for Nana Addo, Mustapha Abdul Hamid told Joy News’ Matilda Asante the areas visited were mostly cocoa growing areas where the people were happy with government’s handling of the cocoa sector.
He said retired teachers and other workers raised issues concerning them which were addressed by the NPP presidential candidate.
According to Mr. Abdul Hamid, most of the questions asked had to do with the increasing fuel prices.
He said Nana Addo told the cocoa farmers he intends to pay them bonuses and widen the scope of the mass cocoa spraying exercise and ensure it is done in a timely manner.
The campaign team returns to Accra on Thursday and will leave for the Volta Region on Sunday.
