Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP’s) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo on Thursday said the party was building on the capacity of women to ensure effective campaign and ultimate victory come December.
She therefore called on the women’s wing of the party to forge ahead in unity for the common goal of the party.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo said this during a tour to introduce herself and her team including wives of former presidential candidates of the party to constituency executives within the Tema Municipality.
The first port of call on her eight-day working tour started at Tema West, East, Ashaiman and Kpone Katamanso where she and her team had a closed-door meeting with constituency executives before meeting the women's groups.
The enthusiastic crowd cheered the team with party songs and chanted slogans such as 'Na nana, na shiuwo', “Oson nie, nana nie” as a sign of their support for the party.
She said the meeting would also afford them the opportunity to develop new strategies, both at the local and national levels, to bring every citizen on board and urged them to register to enable them to exercise their franchise.
Mrs Akufo-Addo said her husband would continue with the good policies of the Kufuor Administration when given the mandate in December and urged party faithful not to be swayed by certain comments meant to destroy the fabric of the party.
