The Upper West Tertiary Education Institutional Network (TEIN) Co-coordinating Council of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to students to educate the electorate on unfolding events to enable them to make the right choices in December elections. This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday to congratulate Mr John Dramani Mahama for his nomination as the running mate to Professor John Evans Attah Mills of the NDC.Mr. Mohammed Awal, Coordinator of the Council urged all stakeholders, especially the Electoral Commission to play its role effectively to make the elections results acceptable to all.He said the NDC would not tolerate the declarations of election results by any person or group of persons in this year's elections.Mr Awal said the matured manner by which the NDC endured the declaration of the 2004 election results by a New Patriotic Party's stalwart should not be taken for granted. On the selection of John Mahama, Mr Awal said that was not only an elevation but also a testimony that the NDC appreciated all the good works that Mr Mahama had been doing for the party. He said the entire membership of the Council believed that with Mr Mahama partnering Professor Mills, the NDC would be driven smoothly to power in the December elections.Mr Awal said members of the Council would work hard to wrestle power from the NPP for the NDC to salvage the economy for a better life for all Ghanaians. He thanked Professor Mills for selecting Mr Mahama as a running mate and expressed the hope that with the huge support that Mr Mahama enjoyed, he would compliment and sustain Professor Mills' house-to house campaign efforts.Source: GNA
